Little-brother energy, sidekick, rascal, social, and adorable

The Rescue
Angel was hatched on July 15th, 2024. His biological mother was killed, leaving behind eggs. The human who owned the property where the eggs were found cared for Angel and his brother as they grew and became full-sized ducks, all with the hope that the ducklings would be wild ducks. Although Angel looks like a mallard duck, he is actually a 2 pound call duck, a type of domestic duck. As Angel grew, he developed Angel wings, making it impossible for him to fly and fend for himself. The human who watched Angel grow reached out and asked if we could provide him a safe home with friends. On November 24th, 2024 Angel arrived at Tumbleweed.

Social, funny, and BIG little brother energy
Angel arrived as a very healthy and social duck. He craves other birds and is commonly their little shadow. Angel first bonded with Forrest, then with Freddie. Angel, despite being 1/4 of the size of the other ducks, always tries to dominate at the first meeting. With the male ducks, he quickly learned he is not the boss, and accepted that fact within seconds. Instead, Angel has adopted the role of the little brother. As such, we call him the rascal. He LOVES to follow and play with big boys. After playing in mud pools, Angel’s favorite activity is to sneak up behind the big boys, jump on their tail feathers, then run away. We call this “getting rascaled”. Angel makes us all laugh and is the little brother to all.
